Can I fish Lake Texoma with an Oklahoma Fishing License?  Same as above.  We will cover Texas and Oklahoma water on Lake Texoma.  You could legally stay on the Oklahoma side of the lake, but we will cross the border several times each trip.  Buy a Lake Texoma Fishing License.

Where can I buy a Lake Texoma Fishing License?  You can buy a Type 208 Lake Texoma Fishing License online or at any Walmart for $ 12.00.  Valid until December 31 following the date of issuance, a person may fish in both the Texas and Oklahoma waters of Lake Texoma without any additional Texas or Oklahoma fishing licenses. Lake Texoma Fishing License requirements

Texas Resident: a person who has lived continuously in Texas for more than six months immediately before buying their license. Read More.

A resident fishing license is required of any resident who fishes in the public waters of Texas.

A license/package is not required for the following residents:

  • a person under 17 years of age.
  • a person born before January 1, 1931.
  • a person with an intellectual disability fishing as part
    of medically approved therapy, under the immediate supervision of personnel approved or employed by a hospital, residence, or school for persons with an intellectual disability. The person with an intellectual disability must carry an authorization identifying the entity supplying the service. This authorization may be in the form of an identification card that contains the name of the sponsoring entity; or
  • a person with an intellectual disability fishing under the direct supervision of a licensed angler who is either a family member or has permission from the family to take the person fishing. While fishing, the person with an intellectual disability needs a note from a doctor stating the person has been diagnosed as having an intellectual disability.

A license/package is not required for the following non-residents:

  • non-residents under 17 years of age;
  • Louisiana resident 65 years of age or older who possesses a valid Louisiana Recreational Fishing License (includes Senior Fish/Hunt License); or
  • Oklahoma resident 65 years of age or older.

  • A person may fish in Texas or Oklahoma waters on Lake Texoma only with the appropriate license from Texas or Oklahoma, unless the person possesses a Lake Texoma fishing license.
  • A person must have a valid Texas fishing license to fish from the Texas bank from Denison DamDenison Dam to Shawnee Creek map to Shawnee Creek (south of the line between border markers 1 and 2 on the map illustration). GPS coordinates are as follows: Marker 1(Lat 33.81892, Long -96.56806), Marker 2 (Lat 33.81986, Long -96.5556). An Oklahoma fishing license is required to wade-fish or fish from a boat in these waters.
  • An Oklahoma resident 65 years of age or older is exempt from fishing license requirements in Texas, including on Lake Texoma.
  • The upstream boundary of Lake Texoma is at Latitude 33°54.426’; Longitude -96°59.114’.
